Daily Requirements

Vehicles driving within designated zones in central parts of European cities are obligated to pay a daily congestion charge. This is in effect from Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and on weekends and public holidays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, excluding Christmas Day (December 25th) and until New Year’s Day.

Payment Methods

The congestion charge can be settled through various methods, including online payments, an automatic payment system for registered users, customer service centers, or via a designated mobile app.

Automatic Payment System

For ease of use, our automatic payment system tracks the number of days a vehicle is within the charge zone each month, automatically processing payments through debit card, credit card, or direct debit. Online registration for this system is available, offering a hassle-free payment solution.

Discounts and Exemptions

Vehicles with nine or more seats qualify for a registration discount, while certain vehicles and individuals may be exempt from the charge or eligible for reduced rates.

Emission Zones

Low Emission Zones (LEZ)

Active 24/7 in most major cities, LEZs aim to diminish emissions from polluting vehicles. Non-compliant vehicles are required to pay a daily charge.

Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZ)

Also operating around the clock, ULEZs are established in large cities to enhance air quality. Vehicles that fail to meet ULEZ standards and are not exempt must pay a daily charge.

Traffic Management

Red Routes

Essential urban roads, known as red routes, are strictly managed to improve traffic flow and minimize delays, ensuring a smoother travel experience.

Direct Vision Standard (DVS) and Safety Permits:

To boost driver visibility and safeguard vulnerable road users, the DVS and a safety permit scheme for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) have been implemented. Application for these permits is free, promoting higher safety standards.
